Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Government, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Taxation, Journalism, English or Creative Writing and five (5) years of experience in state taxation or public administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements: Must be current with all tax reporting/payments. Must possess and maintain a New Mexico Driver’s License. Must have a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico; or the ability to obtain a Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of hire as a condition of continued employment.

Under general direction, manage the financial accounting function in accordance with HUD reporting requirements and procedures. Manage the financial accounting personnel and Management Information Systems for the Bernalillo County Housing Department which requires hands-on involvement in the daily operations. General areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to: financial controls, cash flow/management, general ledger, HUD financial reporting, budget, audit, payroll, rent collections, purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Manage and supervise staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field plus five (5) years accounting related experience with two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
