THE 2011-2012 CPE SEASON CONCLUDES WITH WEBINARS AND SEMINARS

The three brand new New Mexico CPA Foundation produced webinars listed below each qualify for two CPE credits toward the New Mexico Public Accountancy Board’s four CPE credit ethics requirement. Each webinar will be live via the Internet and will require the registrant to log-in to a website shortly before the 10 a.m. start of the program on the date specified. ETHICAL ISSUES FOR ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONALS  (wEIAP2)
A two hour live webinar beginning at 10:00 a.m. that is for all CPAs whether in industry or public practice. Recent publicized cases in which accounting professionals were found to have failed to maintain even the minimum of professional ethical standards have weakened public opinion of the CPA profession. This webinar will discuss the development of ethical thinking of young professionals and how to help bring new members of the profession into the culture of a profession.

ETHICAL ISSUES FOR TAX PRACTITIONERS  (wEITP2)
A two hour live webinar beginning at 10:00 a.m. that is for all CPAs engaged in tax preparation and consulting. This webinar will deal with a variety of ethical issues facing tax practitioners in an increasingly complex economic environment. Professional tax advisers face more complex rules of practice that involve “traps for the unwary.” This program provides a “how to” for practitioners affected by these rules.

ETHICAL ISSUES IN ACCOUNTING & AUDITING PRACTICES  (wEIAAP2)
A two hour live webinar beginning at 10:00 a.m. that is for practitioners engaged in accounting and auditing services. This webinar provides case studies drawn from real-life situations involving CPAs in accounting and auditing practices. The ever increasing economic environment and the large amount of new A & A standards can be overwhelming; clearly it is easy to walk into a trap. We will take a proactive, risk-avoidant stance to avoid these traps. The Code of Conduct, independence, permitted and prohibited services, and issues faced every day in the real world.
