An explanation of the logistics of the webinar experience: First, register on our website, by mail, fax or phone for these webinars, just like any other Foundation program. Each webinar will provide 100 minutes of instruction, earn you two CPE credits, and you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home or office.

A week or so before the program you will be emailed a website link to save for the day of the program. Ten or 15 minutes before the 10 a.m. MST start of the webinar, you will click on the website link to join the program. Each webinar will feature live audio instruction by a local practitioner with exhibit slides appearing on your screen. A question pane will also appear on your screen in which you can send queries to the presenter. During the webinar, you will be asked to respond to online questions in order to verify your attendance. At the end of the webinar you will receive an evaluation form to complete. Your CPE certificate of completion will be emailed to you.

Webinars are easy, quick, relaxing and educational, while eliminating the expense and loss of time to travel. Give it a try! We’ll take you through it step by step. Register now.

JOIN A COMMUNITY FUND PANEL!
CPA Volunteers Needed
In 2011-12, the United Way of Central New Mexico Community Fund supports 110 programs that assist those most vulnerable in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties. Each year, volunteers are the eyes and ears of 23,000 Community Fund donors. These volunteers examine agencies and the programs requesting funding to ensure Community Fund dollars reach those most vulnerable, contributing to real and lasting change in our communities.

The Community Fund needs 350 volunteers who will give about 10 to 20 hours over a three-month period between mid-January and early March to examine programs, visit agencies and make funding recommendations. Each panel includes a Panel Chair, an Assistant Panel Chair and Panel Members. In addition to serving as a Panel Member, financial experts are asked to evaluate the responses to inquiries related to program budgets and financial documents. If you would like to join this incredible volunteer process to make a difference in your community, sign up online, email Mary Regnier at mary.regnier@uwcnm.org, or call Mary or Josefa Wall at 505-247-3671.

Serving on a panel is an effective way to influence funding for the most vulnerable. It’s a way in which you come to better understand the community and its people.
