What is the Tax Academy?
A series of 10 four-hour formal and structured foundational tax seminars geared to staff with 0-5 years of experience. The first seminar will be held July 7, 2011.
When are the seminars held?
The live seminars will be held throughout the year, 1:30-5:00 p.m. in the NMSCPA classroom at 3400 Menaul Blvd. in Albuquerque. The specific dates are:
January 13, 2012, May 9, May 23, and June 20.
What are the topics?
The 10 topics will all relate to corporate taxation: formation of entities, flow through classification, compensation and benefits, restructurings, and other topics deemed necessary to provide a strong foundation in corporate taxation.
Who will instruct the Tax Academy seminars?
The seminars will be instructed by a variety of local tax practitioners.
Who is eligible to enroll in the Tax Academy?
The Tax Academy is open to Society members with 0-5 years of experience.
What is the tuition to enroll?
The cost of instruction for the entire series of 10 seminars is $199. This fee is paid in full prior to the start of the Academy. Once enrolled, there will be no refunds, cancellations or substitutions; the payment applies to the individual, not the firm.
Are CPE certificates issued to attendees?
Proof of CPE attendance will be awarded at the end of each seminar. In addition, a certificate of completion in the Tax Academy will be awarded to each person who attends at least 70% of the seminars.
