Following busy season, this June luncheon is a great time to get reacquainted with many of your colleagues as you spend your lunchtime at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown hotel. Following a shared meal with fellow members, Lisa Todd, NMSCPA Chair, will address the group as she reflects on her past year in office. The certification of our newly-elected officers, board members, and nominating committee members will take place. Later, Mary Jo Billiot, Associate Professor, New Mexico State University, steps up to become the new NMSCPA Chair for 2018-19. In addition to Society business, we are pleased to announce our keynote speaker, Matt B. Geisel, Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Economic Development Department.
We hope you’ll plan to spend the entire day, June 15, with your friends and colleagues because the Foundation has an exceptional and timely full day seminar scheduled, Understanding the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. The legislation has passed; Congress has drastically changed the Internal Revenue Code by enacting the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (the “Act”). This class will outline all of the significant changes in the 1,100-page Act.
The 8 hour CPE event begins at 8:00 a.m., includes the Annual Business Meeting Luncheon, and wraps up at 4:45 p.m. Go to 2018 Annual Business Meeting: Understanding the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 for more CPE information or to register for the full day.
