We are looking for several individuals to serve on the board of BFAC Billeting, a
nonprofit state entity established to provide housing and other services to military
personnel who are in training in New Mexico.
BFAC Billeting was established by NM state statute as a non-funded, non-profit
organization which currently operates a small lodging facility at the New Mexico
National Guard headquarters in Santa Fe. There are approximately 12 employees with
a general manager who is responsible for all aspects of operating the business.
We are seeking individuals who are willing to volunteer their expertise and knowledge
in such areas as non-profit operations, public sector operations, general accounting/
financial procedures, military culture and regulations, hospitality industry, general board
operations and in similar fields that could provide a benefit to the organization.
Directors should be residents of New Mexico.
The work of the board will not be “heavy lifting” per se but the advice and counsel
given to the management will be invaluable. Major General Kenneth Nava, The Adjutant
General of the New Mexico National Guard, has a strategic vision that includes
expanding the organization which requires the support and guidance of a professional
board of directors.
The board positions are voluntary and not compensated but very intrinsically rewarding
in terms of providing guidance to the management team that is performing a vital
service to the military.
